Kids  can give you real good advice in times of need. All you have to do is ask :) I was searching for a box that I had kept in the cupboard and said it aloud, "Oh where did I keep it" My daughter heard it and following was her advice Daughter- "Look everywhere where you have not looked!! Where all did you look mom? Now look where you have not looked. I was searching my ring and didn't find it. Then I looked for it where I had not looked before and I found it." Well I did find it in another room where I had not looked before :) But was amused with her advice which was also true.

Its sometimes quite amusing  to know what kids wish for. We were going to a trip to a lake. While on the way my daughter wanted a coin. Daughter- "Mom I want a coin." Me- "Why?" Daughter- "I want to make a wish and throw it in the lake." Me- "What do you want to wish ?" Daughter-" Oh that's a secret, I can't tell you that." Well usually if something is a secret my daughter won't tell it to me at all. Her usual reply to my persuasion to tell is "Mom it's a secret, if I tell it to you it won't be a secret!!" So  I had to try  diplomatically to know her wish. Me- "You can tell me, maybe if  you tell me your wish , it will come true." Daughter-"OK. I want to wish that I can do magic." Well thankfully I had not promised her that her wish will come true!! But anyways the first thing she did on reaching the lake was make a wish and throw the coin.

Shopping for kids with kids is an adventure in its own. Specially so when they clearly know more than you what they want.. So I went to shoe store to buy gymnastic slippers for my daughter as she had worn out her old ones. The lady at the shop showed us some but my daughter suddenly didn't want any of them. She wanted sneakers.So here is the conversation between her and my daughter. Shopkeeper: "Why don't you want these slippers?" Daughter:"Because I want sneakers." Shopkeeper: "What do the other kids in your sport class wear?" Daughter: "Some of them wear slippers and some wear sneakers. I already had slippers so now I want to have a round of sneakers!!" Well to this reply and reasoning we both couldn't stifle a laugh. The lady later brought two different sneakers to choose from,I asked my daughter to choose one and  before replying to me  she was quite concerned and asked the lady Daughter:...

When kids are above 4 you can see a surge in their knowledge and different ways how they use it against you.. So my daughter was repeatedly asking me the name of  a character from the latest animation  movie we had seen together. I couldn't  remember it. Daughter: (earnestly) "Mom remember!!!!, Look you have a brain, now use that and remember!!! Me: "No I don't have a brain. So I cant remember."  Daughter: (trying to explain diligently)"No mom,  you have a brain,  u cant see it, but u have one." Me: "How do u know I have one." Daughter: "I can see it looking inside the ear.."  Well I don't remember telling her where the brain was for that matter nor what it is and what it does..

4 year olds can give you some of the best explanations you can ever think of. So just reverse the why game with your kids and listen to mind boggling explanations. Daughter: "Ah its so hot in the sun!!" (Before she could ask me why its hot in the sun I asked it to her) Me: "Why is it hot in the sun?" Daughter: "Because the sun is hot" Me: "Why?" Daughter: "They boiled the sun and so its hot" Me: "Who boiled it ?" (And here comes the best part) Daughter: "The planets boiled it. They took a frying pan and boiled the sun and when it was hot they took a glove and tossed it high up. That is why it is hot. And there are black spots on the sun that you shouldn't touch.Because they are hot." Me: "And why did they boil the sun?" Daughter:(irritated): "Because they want to have summer!! "
